Merry Christmas to all

I really hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoys the most important thing in the world. I just hope everyone is blessed enough to be able to spend time with there family. Do whatever it takes to make the holiday memorable for your loved ones. Sometimes just spending time with your elders is all they want. Let's face it, kids want presents. This year will be the first year my granddaughter understands what's going on. She is three and I am so excited to get to watch her open presents. I am so blessed at her age it can be a rock in the gift box, she will love it either way. The only thing I know I will be up early on Christmas.

God bless,

Inflatable moonwalks and combos operators

Okay this post is a rant about how other inflatable rental companies do it. Not all just some. I just do not understand. Some will just call and cancel bookings like it's nothing. Others will deliver things that are just nasty and disgusting. And the best ones to me are the ones that do nothing with in the law. No insurance such as workers comp or general liability. No fire marshal inspections. Some no business license. It just blows my mind how these people sleep at night. I get calls sometimes from other operators asking if they can rent my insurance for an event at a park. Are you kidding? So please if you call me and ask why I cannot do a 50.00 rental. That is the answer. This inflatable rental moonwalk business is expensive to operate properly.
God bless,

Why so many wet bounce houses

Well this has been the year of the soaken wet bounce house. This year it seems to rain on every ones party and it really does make me feel bad. I just wish there was a better way. I know it's really hard on the customers that put out all that money and then it rains. The hardest part is the thought of having 20 kids inside running around destroying the house. A lot of customers tell me there's no way I am canceling. I would rather risk it and give them a little play time. As far as we go when a bouncer gets wet it becomes an absolute nightmare. We have to blow up the bounce house and let it sit on it's side for a day to get all the water out. Then clean it and put it on the shelf. It can get really bad. But we do it for the kids.
God bless,
Joe

Hurricane Issac and the bounce house business

Well we lived through another hurricane here in Louisiana. I mean to live here in New Orleans you just have to live with it, it's better then snow. I really hope everyone is okay and can move on fairly fast. At my home we had a tree fall on the roof. Luckily minimum damage is all the roof took. The funny part is when it hit my wife said it was thunder. The other thing is 3 doors at our warehouse got blown in. Thanks to Dial1 overhead doors who fixed them the next day. Other then that we were delivering on the weekend for a few people. So if there is anything we can do please let us know.
God bless,
Joe

A party for the grand daughter

Okay let me start by saying that parties are a lot of work. My wife decided to have a party for my grand daughter at the house. I think I need to read my own party rules or ideas. I failed miserably. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I waited until the day before to cut the grass and silly me did it at 1pm in the afternoon. Ouch!!!  I also suddenly decided I needed to pressure wash the hole back porch ceiling and ground, about 700 square feet. Then I had to put together a new barbecue pit. Okay that I just wanted. Well needless to say the party wore me out and I am glad we usually just have to show up. Again like I always say I do the easy part.
God bless.

P.S.- Okay i wanted to have it to.

The weekend inflatable rental deal, a deal or not.

I get asked a lot why I do not just do the weekend rental thingy like a few companies out there. We do let you rent for multiple days but do not do it all the time. And I just cannot figure out a way to be able to replace the inflatables that get warn out so much faster. I guess you could say in the simplest terms that if you take a valuable inflatable and go set it out in the yard for a afternoon it will be barely used. If you leave that same inflatable and add on the 2 overnights and the the other things such as bugs, weather, the family pet that peas on it or sleeps on it when it is down and whatever else that may happen. It just kills the equipment and then well you know. I have to buy more equipment or rent questionable equipment. And i do not like questionable equipment. So as a business I choose to stick to the 1 day rentals for my inflatables sake.

The other issue is the fact I see all the time when we are running late picking up equipment. It is the poor parent that when we finally get there to pick it up that says I am so glad you are here. Now I can run all these kids home and have some peace and quiet. A party really wears out the parents the most so most do not want the 2 day rental and all the responsibility that goes with it. And let's face it when parents blink and kids have done all the normal stuff, they get dangerous ideas on what to try with that inflatable next. And let's just face it kids get bored.
God bless,

When ordering a bounce house or a water slide

I always say we do the easy part of the party for our customers. The party planner usually the mom and dad have to do most of the work. I mean planning, buying, thinking and getting the house ready for the party. You know the grass has to be cut and the house has to be clean. I always tell people I've got it easy compared to them. Well if this makes easy here are a few tips to make sure the bounce house or water slide does not end up being a problem. First before you pick a theme make sure you can get the decorations at a local party store or the internet. Nothing is worst then having a Mickey Mouse party with Batman decorations. The next step is to make sure the bounce house or water slide fits in the area you want to put it. Not only look at the ground, but also look overhead for power lines. And most importantly make sure it will fit through any fences it needs to go through. Always confirm a few days out if you do not have anything in writing from the rental company. Well good luck and I hope you order from us.
God Bless,
Joe

Sorry really busy. But I am back.

I am so sorry I have not posted in a while. I just have been busy with the family and a busy inflatable season that I was short some employees. I think we are caught up and promise I will post again. Well just to let everyone know we have some cool new equipment coming in this week. I will start with the one we get the most request for, Hello Kitty. We will now have it in a regular inflatable and a 5in1 bounce house. We also are going to have a extra large bounce house. It is a 16x20 bounce house that is for larger events. We also will be having a new Mickey Park toddler learning park. That is probably one of the nicest pieces I have seen. So see you next week and God Bless.

The Inflatable rental business.

Okay I love it when someone says how easy the inflatable rental business is. They usually just only think about the 10 minute set up and the 15 minute break down. They never count the time driving to and from or all the other headaches. And the funniest part is they really think we only work weekends. The inflatable rental business is a full time 7 day a week job. The weekends is the best part when we make kids happy. And then again they usually are not happy when we pick it up. During the week we have to open them and clean them and re-roll them and store them. Then the best part is the phones and managing the employees. The phones literally ring all hours day and night. I am not saying we answer 24 hours but we answer more then not. I am just saying you better love this business to do it. And most importantly you better care about the reason we do it. THE KIDS.

Mardi Gras and bounce house rentals

Well this week was more about Mardi Gras then bounce house rentals. I do not remember a weekend in my 42 years that they stuffed so many parades into such a short period of time. The weather really created havoc on this very special 4 day weekend we call Mardi gras weekend.. You have to give the people that ride and attend the parades credit for never giving up. I was totally shocked over the fact Endymion still went on with the weather. And the biggest shock was how many people braved the elements to see the parade. I was still running around delivering bounce house rentals and trying to make sure we did not get delayed by parades and the traffic. A lot of people still rent them instead going to the parades.  They also like to introduce out of town family to the bounce house rental experience. They just are not as popular in other cities around the country. Well I know this was not the most exciting blog but I was also enjoying a little Mardi Gras. Have a great week.

Even a bridge cannot stop us and our party rentals

Okay another weekend in the books for 2012. We had so much to worry about this past weekend from Mardi gras to making sure the units were dried and clean from the previous weekend. As everyone knows we do not clean our units on site when picking them up. We take them and re-open them at our warehouse in Harahan to clean the spacewalks in bright light properly. And then we had to make sure not to run into all the parades going on from Metairie to New Orleans to the Westbank. Well somehow we avoided all the parades in the area and all deliveries were made on time and were not slowed down at all. The only problem we ran into was the Hale Boggs bridge that was closed coming back Northbound from Luling. But in the end the only adjustment we had to make was letting one of our customers keep the princess spacewalk longer. I think they were quite happy though. So in the end the bridge just made a customer happier and us just have to drive a little further. Well I have to get ready for another Mardi gras slash party rental filled weekend.

Rainy weekends for inflatable bounce houses and water slide rentals

I just wanted to thank everyone that worked with us this past weekend. I know it was hard planning the party with such a high chance of rain. As you know it turned out Saturday raining around 3:30pm and not letting up for a little while. But in the end I hope all your inflatable bounce house rentals were okay and most importantly the kids were happy. As far as Sunday what a beautiful day that turned out to be. The drivers were out early getting everything delivered and cleaned and dried out if it went out the day before. Thanks to all those people that were so patient while we made sure there parties were okay. But I am so happy the weather was beautiful on Sunday and at least most of Saturday. Well as you know now we have to open all those wet inflatable bounce house rentals and clean them and dry them out for another weekend of parties. We want to make sure everyone is happy this weekend.
Thanks again,
Joe
